Biography
Peter Suschitzky (born 25 July 1941) is a British cinematographer and photographer. He studied at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques in Paris and began his career as a clapper boy before becoming a camera operator.
He is known for his long collaboration with director David Cronenberg, serving as director of photography on films including Dead Ringers (1988), Naked Lunch (1991), Crash (1996), eXistenZ (1999), A History of Violence (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) and Maps to the Stars (2014). Other credits include The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Mars Attacks! (1996). He is the son of cinematographer Wolfgang Suschitzky and has received four Genie Awards for his work with Cronenberg.
