Biography
Roger Pratt (1947–2024) was a British cinematographer. He trained at Durham University and the London Film School, and began his career in the camera department, working as a clapper loader on Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975).
Pratt served as director of photography on more than 35 feature films. His credits include Brazil (1985), Batman (1989), The Fisher King (1991), Shadowlands (1993), Twelve Monkeys (1995), The End of the Affair (1999), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), Troy (2004) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). He collaborated repeatedly with directors Terry Gilliam and Richard Attenborough. Pratt received an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography for The End of the Affair and was awarded the British Society of Cinematographers Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
