Biography
Stephen King is an American writer born on 21 September 1947 in Portland, Maine. He has written numerous novels, short stories and other works, often in the horror genre, and has published under the pseudonyms Richard Bachman, John Swithen and others.
King is known for novels adapted into films including The Shawshank Redemption (1994), The Shining (1980), Stand by Me (1986), Misery (1990), The Green Mile (1999), The Mist (2007) and It (2017). He also wrote the novels on which the films The Running Man (2025) and The Long Walk (2025) are based.
