Biography
Toby Emmerich is an American film producer, executive and screenwriter. Born in New York City on 8 February 1963, he began his career as a music executive at Atlantic Records before joining New Line Cinema, where he worked as an executive music producer on films including Menace II Society (1993).
He wrote the screenplays for Frequency (2000) and The Last Mimzy (2007). Emmerich advanced to president of production at New Line Cinema and later became chairman of the Warner Bros. Pictures Group, a role he held until 2022. He has served as producer or executive producer on more than fifty films.
His recent producing credits include Mortal Kombat II (2026) and I Play Rocky (2026). He is the brother of actor Noah Emmerich.
