Biography
Bradley Whitford is an American actor. Born on 10 October 1959 in Madison, Wisconsin, he graduated from Wesleyan University in 1981 and studied at the Juilliard School.
He is best known for playing Josh Lyman in the NBC series The West Wing (1999–2006), a role that earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2001. Other credits include Dean Armitage in the film Get Out (2017), Steve Hadley in The Cabin in the Woods (2012), and Commander Joseph Lawrence in The Handmaid's Tale (2018–2025), for which he received a further Emmy in 2019. He has appeared as Todd Penn in the Netflix series The Diplomat (2023–).
Whitford has also featured in films such as Philadelphia (1993), The Post (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and in television series including Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013) and Transparent.
