Biography

James Edward Franco is an American actor and filmmaker. His first prominent acting role was as Daniel Desario in the television series Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000).

Franco starred as Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007) and as Aron Ralston in 127 Hours (2010), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He has frequently collaborated with Seth Rogen on films including Pineapple Express (2008), This Is the End (2013) and The Disaster Artist (2017).

He won Golden Globe Awards for his performances as the title character in the television film James Dean (2001) and in The Disaster Artist (2017). Franco also appeared in Milk (2008), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Oz the Great and Powerful (2013).
