Biography
Trent Reznor is an American composer, musician and singer-songwriter, best known as the founder and primary member of the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. He has composed numerous film and television scores, often in collaboration with Atticus Ross.
Reznor began creating music in his youth in western Pennsylvania and later worked at a recording studio in Cleveland, where he developed material that became Nine Inch Nails' debut album Pretty Hate Machine (1989). His film composing career began with the score for The Social Network (2010), written with Ross; the pair have since scored films including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Gone Girl (2014), Soul (2020), The Killer (2023), Challengers (2024) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023), as well as the series The Bear (2022).
Reznor and Ross have received Academy Awards for Best Original Score for The Social Network and Soul.
