Biography

Benjamin Wallfisch is an English composer, conductor and music producer. Born in London on 7 August 1979, he is the son of violinist Elizabeth Wallfisch and cellist Raphael Wallfisch. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the University of Manchester and the Royal Academy of Music, and worked as an assistant conductor with orchestras including the English Chamber Orchestra before moving into film scoring in the mid-2000s.

Wallfisch has composed or co-composed scores for more than 50 feature films. His credits include Blade Runner 2049 (2017), It (2017), Hidden Figures (2016), It Chapter Two (2019), The Invisible Man (2020), Shazam! (2019), Mortal Kombat (2021), The Flash (2023), Twisters (2024), Alien: Romulus (2024), Kraven the Hunter (2024), Wolf Man (2025), The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025) and Predator: Badlands (2025). He received a Golden Globe nomination for Hidden Figures and BAFTA and Grammy nominations for Blade Runner 2049.
