Biography

Dariusz Adam Wolski is a Polish cinematographer. Born on 7 May 1956 in Warsaw, he studied at the Łódź Film School before moving to the United States in 1979.

He began his career as a camera assistant on low-budget films and music videos, later becoming a director of photography on major Hollywood productions. Wolski has been a member of the American Society of Cinematographers since 1996 and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2004.

He is known for his work on the Pirates of the Caribbean series (2003–2011) and for frequent collaborations with Ridley Scott, including Prometheus (2012), The Martian (2015), Alien: Covenant (2017) and Napoleon (2023). As of 2025, his films rank among the highest-grossing at the worldwide box office.
