Derek Jacobi is an English actor. He was born on 22 October 1938 in Leytonstone, London.

Jacobi is known for his work at the Royal National Theatre and for his film and television roles. He has appeared in Gladiator (2000) and Gladiator II (2024) as Gracchus, The King's Speech (2010) as Archbishop Cosmo Lang, Murder on the Orient Express (2017) as Edward Henry Masterman, and Allelujah (2023) as Ambrose.

He has received a BAFTA Award, two Olivier Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Tony Award. He was knighted in 1994 for services to theatre.
