Biography

Jenny Beavan is an English costume designer. She was born in London in 1950 and began her career working on stage productions before moving into film.

She came to prominence through her long collaboration with John Bright on costumes for Merchant Ivory Productions. Beavan is known for her work on period dramas including A Room with a View (1985) and The King's Speech (2010), as well as action and contemporary films such as Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Cruella (2021) and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024).

She has received three Academy Awards for Best Costume Design, four BAFTA Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. Beavan was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2017.
