Biography
Sir Anthony Hopkins is a Welsh actor. After graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 1957, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He joined the Royal National Theatre in 1965 following an invitation from Laurence Olivier.
Hopkins achieved recognition in film with his role as Richard the Lionheart in The Lion in Winter (1968). He is known for his performances in The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Meet Joe Black (1998), the Thor films (2011–2017) as Odin, Westworld (2016) as Dr Robert Ford, The Son (2022) as Anthony, One Life (2023) as Nicholas Winton and Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023) as the voice of Jimmy. He was knighted in 1993 for services to the arts.
