Biography

Penny Rose is a British costume designer who has worked in film since the 1970s. She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and began her career in theatre and commercials before moving into features.

Her early credits include The Commitments (1991) and Shadowlands (1993). She has designed costumes for the Pirates of the Caribbean series (2003–2017), Mission: Impossible (1996), Evita (1996), The Mummy (2017) and Men in Black: International (2019). Rose has received three BAFTA nominations for Best Costume Design, for Evita, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
