Biography
Roman Coppola is an American writer, director and producer. Born Roman François Coppola on 22 April 1965 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, he is the son of Francis Ford Coppola and Eleanor Coppola. He serves as president of American Zoetrope and founded The Directors Bureau, a production company for commercials and music videos.
Coppola has collaborated extensively with Wes Anderson, receiving story credit on Asteroid City (2023) and The Phoenician Scheme (2025). With Anderson he co-wrote Moonrise Kingdom (2012), for which they received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, as well as The Darjeeling Limited (2007) and The French Dispatch (2021). He has also contributed story or writing to Isle of Dogs (2018).
