Biography
Ron Perlman is an American actor born on 13 April 1950 in Manhattan, New York City. He trained at Lehman College and the University of Minnesota, where he earned an MFA in theatre arts. His early film roles include Amoukar in Quest for Fire (1981) and Salvatore in The Name of the Rose (1986).
Perlman is known for his title role as Hellboy in Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008), as well as Clay Morrow in the television series Sons of Anarchy (2008–2013) and Vincent in Beauty and the Beast (1987–1990), for which he won a Golden Globe Award. He has collaborated frequently with director Guillermo del Toro on films including Cronos (1993), Blade II (2002), Pacific Rim (2013) and Nightmare Alley (2021). Other notable performances include Nino in Drive (2011) and Benedict Drask in Don't Look Up (2021).
Perlman has an extensive voice-acting career, including the narrator of the Fallout video game series, Slade in Teen Titans (2003–2006) and Optimus Primal in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023).
