Biography
Roy Lee is an American film and television producer. He was born on 23 March 1969 in Brooklyn, New York, to Korean parents. He studied at George Washington University and the American University Washington College of Law before moving into the film industry.
In 2001 he co-founded Vertigo Entertainment with Doug Davison. Lee began as an executive producer on The Ring (2002) and produced The Grudge (2004), both remakes of Asian horror films. He has since produced or executive produced numerous films including The Departed (2006), It (2017), It Chapter Two (2019), The Lego Movie (2014) and the How to Train Your Dragon series.
His recent credits include Weapons (2025), The Long Walk (2025) and A Minecraft Movie (2025).
