Biography
Adam Stockhausen is an American production designer. He grew up in Wisconsin and graduated with a Theatre Arts degree from Marquette University in 1995 and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama in 1999.
He is known for his frequent collaborations with Wes Anderson on films including Moonrise Kingdom (2012), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), Isle of Dogs (2018), The French Dispatch (2021) and Asteroid City (2023). He has also worked with Steven Spielberg on Bridge of Spies (2015), West Side Story (2021), Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) and Disclosure Day (2026), and with Steve McQueen on 12 Years a Slave (2013) and Blitz (2024).
Stockhausen won the Academy Award for Best Production Design for The Grand Budapest Hotel and has received three further Oscar nominations for 12 Years a Slave, Bridge of Spies and West Side Story.
