Biography
Darryl F. Zanuck was an American film producer and studio executive. He began his career writing scenarios in the silent era and joined Warner Bros. in 1924, rising to head of production. In 1933 he co-founded Twentieth Century Pictures, which merged with Fox Film Corporation two years later to form 20th Century Fox, where he served as vice president in charge of production for many years.
Zanuck produced All About Eve (1950). Among his other credits are The Public Enemy (1931), Little Caesar (1931), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), How Green Was My Valley (1941), Lifeboat (1944), The King and I (1956), The Longest Day (1962) and Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970). He received three Academy Awards for Best Picture.
