Biography
Ellen Mirojnick is an American costume designer. Born in New York City on 7 July 1949, she trained at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design. She has worked in film and television since the late 1970s.
Mirojnick is known for her collaborations with Michael Douglas on films including Wall Street (1987), Basic Instinct (1992) and Behind the Candelabra (2013). She has also worked repeatedly with directors Paul Verhoeven, Jan de Bont and Steven Soderbergh. Her credits include Speed (1994), Starship Troopers (1997), The Greatest Showman (2017), Kimi (2022), Oppenheimer (2023), Black Bag (2025) and The Odyssey (2026).
She won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Costume Designers Guild Award for Behind the Candelabra. In 2016 she received the Costume Designers Guild Career Achievement Award. She was nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for Best Costume Design for Oppenheimer.
