Biography
Danny Elfman is an American composer. Born in Los Angeles in 1953, he first came to prominence as lead vocalist and songwriter for the band Oingo Boingo before beginning film scoring in the mid-1980s.
He has composed scores for over 100 feature films and numerous television series. Notable credits include Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), the Netflix series Wednesday (2022), Send Help (2026) and Dead Man's Wire (2026). He has frequently collaborated with directors Tim Burton and Sam Raimi.
His other film scores include Edward Scissorhands (1990), Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Men in Black (1997), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Good Will Hunting (1997). He has received four Oscar nominations, three Emmy Awards and a Grammy Award.
