Biography
Alexandre Desplat is a French film composer and conductor. Born on 23 August 1961 in Paris, he has composed scores for numerous films, including The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), The Shape of Water (2017), the two Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films (2010–2011), The Imitation Game (2014) and The King's Speech (2010).
He has received two Academy Awards for Best Original Score, three BAFTA Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and two Grammy Awards. Desplat has collaborated with directors including Wes Anderson, Guillermo del Toro, Gareth Edwards and Roman Polanski. His recent work includes scores for Asteroid City (2023), Lee (2024), The Piano Lesson (2024), Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), Frankenstein (2025) and The Phoenician Scheme (2025).
