Biography

Michael Kahn is an American film editor. He has collaborated extensively with director Steven Spielberg, editing all but two of his films since Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977).

His credits include Hook (1991), Jurassic Park (1993), Schindler's List (1993) and Saving Private Ryan (1998). He won Academy Awards for Best Film Editing for Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan. Earlier in his career he edited television series such as Hogan's Heroes and received an Emmy Award for the 1976 miniseries Eleanor and Franklin.

Kahn was born on 8 December 1930 in New York City.
