Biography
Bess Flowers was an American actress. She appeared, often uncredited, in hundreds of films between 1923 and 1964, and was known as the Queen of the Hollywood Extras.
Born in Sherman, Texas, Flowers made her screen debut in Hollywood (1923). Her credits include Gone with the Wind (1939), Double Indemnity (1944), Notorious (1946), Rear Window (1954), Vertigo (1958) and North by Northwest (1959). She holds the record for the most appearances in films nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Flowers also worked in television, including episodes of I Love Lucy.
